About Me

Hi, I’m Odzangba Dake and I’m a political science major at the University of Ghana. My philosophy on computers has largely been shaped by my first computer… a touchy ancient beast. It’s enough to say that I love lean-and-mean applications and passionately detest fat-and-lazy ones. :D Finding such applications in Windows was and is never easy so when somewhere in May 2005, I learned about the existence of an OS that was both lean and mean plus was free, I immediately gave it a try… that’s how I became a linux user. About two weeks of distro shopping left me undecided between Ubuntu and Knoppix so I just triple booted (with Windows) until I settled on Ubuntu (after the Breezy Badger release) and I’ve been using it almost exclusively ever since.

This blog is primarily for my own consumption… when I started this blog, all I wanted was somewhere to run back to when something broke. This is still true today and I just keep on documenting solutions to my problems for future reference. So I don’t blog about things just to attract site traffic. However, my problems are not unique and several other people find the fixes and how-tos I put up here useful and that’s basically all this blog is about.
